The Barnes Method of Myofascial Release is gentle, intuitive structural release of the fascial structure using a variety of methods and holds. It is not a 'protocol' of steps, but rather works with the body through low load and sustained pressure over time to rehydrate the fascial tissue, allowing for spontanious movement, sound and emotion as part of the healing process. Each session is unique, and builds upon the last.
Let your body sing with the vibrant, healing work of Sound Therapist and Certified Emotion Code Practioner Holly Gossett.
Sound therapy and energy work compliment Myofascial Release to further melt the solidified collogen held in the fascial matrix, where energy gets stored and can be stuck by a constricted fascial tightness. Old injuries, traumas or life stress and strain can be re-tuned to a healther frequency, releasing blocked energy pathways in the fascial web, freeing up necessary celluar metabolism to better function, improved well being and relaxation.
Holly and Rayel Gossett bring a wealth of over 20 years of musical frequency knowledge and holistic healing experience to their work with Tibetan Bowls, Tuning Forks, Drums, Cymbals, Bells, Voice, Muscle Testing and Energy Work to make each session a beautiful experience in healing.
CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle yet powerful technique that is effective in releasing neck pain, back pain, and mental stress (among other things). It does this by optimizing the movement of cerebrospinal fluid through the spine and around the skull. Developed by physician William Sutherland, this therapy provides a very soothing and relaxing healing experience.
I apply the John F. Barnes method of Cranial Sacral Therapy, working with the cerebro spinal fluid, as well as fascial structure, of the cranial bones, and that of the inner cranium, and brain and spinal cord.
Reflexology is a type of bodywork that focuses on applying pressure to the specific nerve zones in your feet and hands. Unlike other foot massages that intend to mostly relieve tension in the feet themselves, reflexology is a far more in-depth science that aims to harmonize your entire body. According to reflexology, every part of the human body is mapped into your feet. Reflexology treatments have been found to be highly effective for conditions such as allergies, headaches, and depression.
I have had good success in treating patients with a variety of foot and body condtions by applying the Reflexology principle in a Myofascial manner. Applying gentler, longer holds to a tender foot and ankle and getting rapid reduction in swelling and arthitic or post surgerical pain. Hammer Toes, Arthritis, Plantar Fascitis, Morton's Neuroma, Bunions are just a few of the conditions I have treated with great success for patients.
Lymphatic Drainage Therapy aims to gently and rhythmically move the lymph through the body, especially swollen areas of the body, relieving pressure and enhancing the functioning of the immune system. As both a preventative and remedial technique, LD can be used for a wide range of purposes including faster recovery from injury, reduction of swelling and discomfort from pregnancy, and strengthened resistance to illness. I apply the Barnes Method of Myofascial Release to release the physical structure of the Fascial and Lymphatic System and light flushing strokes.
Movement education uses a custom-tailored approach to improving your body awareness and movement skills. Combining problem-solving, guided-discovery, and exploratory methods, this practice inevitably leads to a stronger connection between the mind and body, creating a more natural and graceful experience of movement and interaction with other people.
As part of MFR therapy, I will suggest stretches and movements and home care treatments as part of a on going educational training to allow you to maintain your new found freedom from the comfort of home! :)
Orthopedic massage is a style of massage therapy focused on treating painful conditions that affect the soft tissues of the body. Because orthopedic massage is designed to treat medical conditions, it requires extensive training. It involves releasing tense muscles, helping to stretch and lengthen tight muscles and tendons, and decompress rigid joints. My goal is to restore full health to the soft tissues of your body, both treating your specific conditions as well as improving your overall well-being.
I have 14 years of experience in treating complex cases of all types. I apply the gentle application of the John F. Barnes Approach in doing my orthopedic massage care. I come highly recommended by area P.T's; Nurses; M.D's.; Chirpractors, other health professionals and patients for the quality of work I do and the results achieved.
Sports Massage is a type of massage designed for highly active people who engage in athletics. Engaging in sports is harsh on the body and can often lead to injuries in both the short and long term. Sports Massage enhances performance and prolongs a sports career by helping to prevent injury, reduce pains and swelling in the body, relax the mind, increase flexibility, and dramatically improve recovery rates. Sports Massage is also highly effective in aiding the rapid recovery of an athlete from an injury by encouraging greater kinesthetic awareness and in turn promoting the body's natural immune function.
I have worked with many athletes in their training for Iron Man and Marathon competitions, Rowers and Kyakers, Dancers, Bikers, Pilates and Yoga enthusiasists, Weight Lifters and Weekend Warriors.
Oncology Massage is a special type of massage developed specifically for cancer patients. Cancer patients have unique needs which must be addressed to make sure that a massage is beneficial to their health. I focus my attention on creating a gentle, nurturing environment for you to relax into.
I have had training in Oncology Massage care specific to breast cancer, and have worked with patients with a variety of cancers, both during oncology care, and post treatment care for scarring, adhesions and pain resultant from radiation therapy.
Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.
Pregnancy Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women. Pregnancy is a time when a woman's body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes. Using various techniques specially developed for the expecting mother, Pregnancy Massage helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation.
I have had over 40 hours of pre-natal training, and was trained by a Washington State Certified Doula in the course of my massage training.
Soul Serenity Geriatric massage is a form of massage designed to meet the specific needs of the elderly, age 72 and older. It helps to improve blood circulation, relieve pain, and also increase range of motion. If you are elderly, geriatric massage can help you maintain and improve your overall health, as well as regain certain physical functions that have been reduced due to aging. In addition, since the elderly don't typically receive enough physical touch, this massage can also help alleviate symptoms of loneliness or depression.
I apply the gentle use of Myofascial Massage and Swedish for seniors to treat many different ailments, aches and pains. My office is reached by eleveator, and has 30 inch doors. Assistance dressing/undressing and getting on and off the table are provided if needed, or you may have a caregiver assist as needed. Your safety is of my primary concern.
